Relentless

I am relentless in my mission to help women with lipedema. In the same way i vowed never to let lipedema dominate my life. Instead i am grateful of what it brought me. I turned it into my super power!

Being misunderstood or even worse; misdiagnosed can lead to serious mental problems

I remember when i was going through this at a young age. I would have given anything to have someone who understood what i was going through!

Feeling like no one gets what you are going through!

I remember clearly being a teenager and wondering why my legs looked so different from the legs of my girlfriends. For years I dismissed that as ‘I just love good food too much’. My GP was also of no help; “Nothing to worry about. Less salt and give your legs a rest now and then.” But that didn’t solve anything either. Every year it got a little worse and diets and (extra) exercise did nothing for my legs.

After my first pregnancy, my body was completely out of proportion and my legs also started to hurt a lot. But no one could help me further. I really felt like I was being ‘sent from pillar to post’… I felt like no one understood what i was going through…

Ask me anything

It took over 25 years for someone to finally diagnose me with lipedema. Years and years of being misunderstood and misdiagnosed. Decades of dealing with the  frustrations of having no control over my body. And all that so-called well-intentioned  advice from family and friends. Or worse, harsh remarks from strangers. This put a big dent in my confidence as a young teenager which i still feel today!

And this is why i do what i do. This is why it’s my mission to help women who suffer from lipedema. Why i feel it is so important to get the right information out there for young girls who are going through the same struggle as i did. So if you have any questions regarding lipedema (wether you are diagnosed or not), you can ask them during my consulting calls.

... that she knows what you are experiencing because she also has Lipedema herself makes it easier to explain.
